Make Your Own History Camp for Kids

-

Two Sessions:  July 18 – 22 and August 15 – 19

Create, Explore and Enrich at the Wilton Historical Society

Make Your Own History summer camp is an opportunity for kids to create and explore Connecticut’s rich history of craftsmanship and innovation.  Through engaging, history-based activities, kids will learn firsthand about artistry and ingenuity – and come home with an authentic experience and fun projects.

Make Your Own History is limited to 12 campers, with activities lead by education professionals.  This small group structure provides one-on-one instruction in a safe, relaxed environment where kids can spark their imaginations and have fun with friends.

Kids will learn about Connecticut’s rich history of innovation and craftsmanship by delving into hands-on history, learning about blacksmithing and tin punching, weaving and dyeing, apothecary in the Colonial Herb Garden, Connecticut inventions and much more.  Mornings will be filled with discovery, learning, arts & crafts, and a simple snack inspired by the day’s project. Each week will have different projects.

Weather permitting we will meet outside under a tent or in the 1860 Abbott Barn.

Suggested for kids ages 6-10.  Limited to 12 participants.  Mon. – Fri. 9:30 – 12:30

Per session: Members: $250; Non-members $300.
