President's Message

To our many members, friends and neighbors,

There’s a bounce to our steps at the Society as spring blossoms. Please note that our hours have expanded to include Saturdays and some Sundays.

The voices of excited and happy 4th graders will soon fill the air in and around the Museum as they make their annual trek to visit us and learn about the daily chores and tasks of colonial life. This hands-on experience is always a highlight for them and this year we have added a new dimension – they “barter” for goods and services. Want to learn more – just ask any 9 or 10 year old in Wilton!

Our spring exhibit, Currier & Ives, and their Rivals continues to attract visitors. A common comment from those who have had the pleasure of seeing the exhibit is “This is so wonderful; I can’t believe that it’s from a collector in our Town!” We are truly blessed to have secured the loan of these prints, perhaps the largest public showing of 19th century lithographs in the Northeast! The exhibit will run through the end of June. Our calendar page lists collateral programs and presentations.

With the new season, our Museum Gift Shop has also been infused with new items. It’s a great place to find the perfect hostess gift and all our merchandise is made in America! There is always something for both young and old, a collector, a reader or a crafter. Please come in and browse!

Our thanks to the many people who continue to support us with their Museum visits, their participation in our events and their financial gifts. We invite everybody to enjoy our wide and varied programs.

Best regards,
Greg Chann
