Annual Events

TASTE IN TIME

This February, take a step back in time with us and experience cuisine and cocktails of the past and help fundraise for the Wilton Historical Society to keep our stories alive and foster the next generation of history makers.

Immerse yourself in nearly three centuries of Wilton’s history. Enjoy food and cocktails directly inspired by historical time periods! This immersive experience takes place in the charming and storied buildings of Wilton Historical Society.

FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL

Kick off summer by enjoying great food, immersive experiences, community unity, all while supporting Wilton’s museum at the Wilton Historical Society’s Food Truck Festival. Gather with friends and neighbors at Schenck’s Island and Chess Park to explore Wilton’s culinary and food-producing history, with re-enactments from knowledgeable colonial educators, live music, historically inspired games, face painting, and more!

The Wilton Historical Society Food Truck Festival is held in partnership with Wilton Pride’s Be You Festival and Wilton Coalition for Youth #Wiltoniswhereyoubelong campaign.

COLONIAL TAVERN NIGHT

Taverns and inns were an integral part of 18th century Wilton, serving as restaurants, bars, rest stops for weary travelers, and community centers. These businesses were so vital that for a time, Connecticut colonial law actually required several towns to have at least one tavern open. Join us in October for an evening of great food, drinks, games, and trivia at the Wilton Historical Society and party like it’s 1779!

PUMPKIN FEST

Embrace the autumn spirit things pumpkin! In mid-October we play fall themed lawn games such as cornhole and pumpkin tic-tac-toe, or join costumed colonial docents as they cook over an open hearth, weave and spin flax, or hammer away in the blacksmith’s forge, all while munching on complimentary cider and donuts.

GREAT TRAINS SHOW

Join in the Wilton tradition of an annual visit to the Great Trains Show and Winter Village! Between Thanksgiving and mid-January these gorgeous models give a glimpse into Wilton’s past through the 18th and 19th century buildings that have been delightfully decorated and interwoven with model trains. Children and adults alike can enjoy the tiny towns, tunnels, little people, and animals connected by traveling trains. This event is equal parts enchanting and informative.
