Puzzle Pieces: Putting Wilton Together
Permanent Exhibition
Throughout its history, Wilton has always been a town created in the collective. Its government, civic and arts organizations, schools, and neighborhoods are products of individuals coming together to create something bigger.
Wilton Historical Society proudly presents our newest exhibition, Puzzle Pieces: Putting Wilton Together. “Puzzle Pieces” stitches together colorful pieces of history to illustrate the answer: everyone. Thousands of people – historical and current – whether they are permanent residents, workers who commute in, or simply visitors passing through, have all contributed to making Wilton the town it is today. They are all pieces of the puzzle that come together to create a place that is both unique and evolving every day. Everyone is their own piece of the puzzle that creates the whole picture.
Puzzle Pieces is a living exhibition, meaning that artifacts, interactives, and other content will be constantly changing. Every few months, new objects will be on display and new stories will be told, making each visit to this exhibition a new experience.
Funded by a generous grant from the Wilton Kiwanis Club, Puzzle Pieces strives to help visitors create a sense of belonging in the community. This exhibition uses interactive elements, oral histories, and rarely seen items from the Wilton Historical Society’s museum collection to tell the stories of all those who have put Wilton together, and help visitors understand their place in the community in the present and future.
