Revolution, Continued…

New Exhibition

The United States of America that emerged from the Revolutionary War was imperfect by the Founding Fathers’ own admission. The amendment process included in the Constitution ratified in 1787 and the amendments that followed showed that constant change and updates would be needed. The Revolution was never truly “finished.”

The echoes of the American Revolution continue to be heard centuries after the final shots of the War for Independence. Wiltonians throughout history have followed in the footsteps of these founding ideals, fighting for social and political change. These movements have raised similar questions: Who becomes a revolutionary? What methods of bringing radical change are effective? The Wilton Historical Society’s new permanent exhibition, Revolution, Continued…, explores Wilton’s role in the American Revolution and how the town’s revolutionary successors have attempted to enact their own changes.

Open through 2028.
